Typetalk #1

When I saw this poster in my neighborhood, Bed-Stuy, I could not help being impressed by the inventive type treatment.
But when I paused to read the poster one more time, I realized something
was wrong.

If you really say no to surgery, how could you have such a beautiful fresh hemorrhoid to use as the o in proctology?
Be careful: If your type fights your message, it could end up a real pain in the butt.

Blogging from beautiful St. John.
I made my first music video ever!
With a PoS $100 underwater camera that broke down on the third day.
I think I got enough footage to show the kind of Underwater Love you'll experience on the reefs of St.John. Snorkel only - no scuba involved.
Thanks to Smoke City for the beautiful music and to Kayoko, the Turtle, the Silversides, Mr. and Mrs. Pufferfish, Ray, and all the other fishes for just being themselves ...
Enjoy!

Book jacket for Paul Auster's new novel, "Invisible"

Here is a cover I did for the Danish version of Paul Auster's novel Invisible to be published shortly by Per Kofod Publishers.

The novel takes place in both New York and Paris, so I needed a setting that could represent either place.
I chose an old photo I took at the pond in Central Park showing reflections of the Fifth Avenue buildings.

I tried to make the visual at the same time realistic/straight forward and mysterious/surreal - much like Auster's prose.

The Lost Pictures Files #1

I have all these photos of people who might be long-forgotten.
I don't know who they were or what they did.
They all seem to have intriguing stories to tell, but no voice.
That's why I started The Lost Pictures Files.
